I just picked up this bit of news from Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe that David Eckstein has decided to call it quits from Major League Baseball. Being a Cardinal Fan Eckstein has become part of Cardinal lore. This gritty player has warmed up to Cardinal Nation as a fan favorite. With only three years with St.Louis he became an All Star short stop twice and a World Series MVP in 2006. I was hoping for a comeback but I guess he decided to hang it up for now. Maybe we will see him pop up again sometime soon.
